Koraput Highlands
The Call of the Wild: Koraput Adventures
Odisha's untamed frontier — where peaks pierce clouds and waterfalls thunder through ancient forests.
Overview
Koraput is where the Eastern Ghats rise dramatically to meet the sky. At 1,672 metres, Deomali Peak — Odisha's highest summit — offers a summit camping experience under one of India's most star-dense night skies.
Raniduduma Falls, Odisha's tallest waterfall, plunges through ancient jungle gorges accessible only through a forested trail most groups never discover. The Duduma Falls on the Machkund River is a thundering cascade of water, mist, and sound.
The highlands are home to the Kondh, Paroja, and Gadaba tribes, whose weekly Haat markets offer an irreplaceable window into a living culture.
